The Preferred Extras Hotel Program offers savings from 5 - 15% off the best available, unrestricted rates offered through any distribution channel. Unlike fixed rate programs, room rates are dynamic, allowing us to offer our customers the greatest value based on current market conditions.

Extra Service - Our preferred partners offer complimentary amenities exclusive to American Express travelers, such as free high-speed internet access, complimentary breakfast, and health facility access.
Extra Control – Our program eliminates the need for travelers to shop the Internet for lower rates. Preferred Extras rates are available whether the traveler books with us online or consults with a Vanguard travel counselor.
Extra Value – Unlike other hotel programs with rates that require prepayment, multiple room nights or other fine-print restrictions, our rates are unrestricted and unmatched by our competition. Last Room Availability — The American Express Preferred Extras rate will never be sold out as long as a standard room is available
“Walk” Agreement — If a business traveler has a guaranteed reservation and a room is not available upon arrival, the Preferred Extras program will pay for one three-minute long distance phone call, find and pay for one night’s accommodation at a comparable hotel and provide and pay for transportation to that hotel.
American Express Preferred Car Rental Program
Vanguard customers also have automatic access to the American Express Preferred Car Rental Program, which includes partnerships with Hertz, Alamo, National, Avis, Budget and Enterprise. These partners offer competitive rates and value-added benefits to corporate travelers; and continually strive to support customers with exclusive promotional rates and periodic coupon programs.
